What is it?

Honeybees go out to do their duty: to collect pollens or male seeds of different flowers. It mixes with the nectar and the digestive enzymes of the bees turning it into a sticky pollen granule that sticks to the bee’s legs. The bees carry it back to their hive to store it as food for the rest of the colony. As they enter the hive, some of these pollens are brushed off their legs and collect as “dust.” This is what bee pollen is. Special screens are made by beekeepers to collect this surplus pollen. It takes a bee eight hours of work a day every day for a whole month before he can gather a mere teaspoon of pollen. It is sweet and absolutely delicious. Plus, it’s also known to promote rejuvenation and healing. No wonder the ancient Greeks and Romans call it the “life-giving dust” and the secret “ambrosia” to attaining everlasting youth. This is evident in history—pollen was used in ancient Chinese and American Indian tribes and was entombed along with pharaohs.

What are its nutritional content and health benefits?

Even nutritionists agree: organic bee pollen contains nearly all the nutrients required by humans making it one of nature’s most nourishing foods. Some even said we could live on pure, raw bee pollen alone.

Helps build cells, bones, organs and skin. Just a teaspoon of bee pollen contains more than 2.5 billion grains of flower pollen granules which are densely packed with nutrients. It contains more protein and at least 20 amino acids than any animal source. These proteins are in a form which the body can use readily to help maintain and build muscle and every cell in our bodies.

Helps lose weight. Bee pollen has the capacity to stimulate the body’s metabolic processes by speeding up caloric burn. It contains lecithin (15% lecithin by volume) which is a substance that flushes out fats from the body. Aside from lecithin, bee pollen also contains phenylalanine, a natural appetite suppressant.

Bee pollens contain 55% carbohydrates, 30% protein, approximately 5% of Vitamin C, about 100 enzymes, niacin, riboflavin, iron, zinc, bioflavonoids, fatty acids and Vitamin B12.

What makes our bee pollen different?

Impact Foods is with you on your journey towards a healthier life. That’s why we offer only health foods that are of top quality. Our bee pollen is cut above the rest for the following reasons:
While others harvest bee pollens for the sake of just getting the bee pollens, we at Impact Foods are considerate of the bees and the environment. Our organic bee pollen is the result of careful and natural bee-keeping methods and practices. It is our aim not just to offer world-class bee pollens but also to obtain it sustainably.
To collect pollens, a thin mesh is placed at the main entrance of the beehives. When the bee enters, the largest pollen pellets fall off and are gathered in a collection box. We don’t collect longer than four days a week, for four to five weeks. This is to make sure the bees have enough pollens to use as nourishment for the colony.

If you have encountered sterilized or irradiated bee pollens, it is a sign that its complex compositions, which cannot be synthesized even in laboratories, have already been destroyed. But that’s not how we process our pollens.

After collection, the pollens are immediately transported to our processing center. Here, they undergo a special heating process to remove moisture. This is to ensure that the pollens would have a longer shelf life. We make sure the temperature doesn’t go beyond 45ºC to avoid diminishing its nutritional value.

We pass the pollen in several sieves with different sizes to make sure it’s free of any foreign particle. The pollens are then carefully inspected by qualified staff using very high and strict standards. How meticulous are we? We allocate an identification number for every lot and bee-keeper. This way, the origin of pollen can easily be traced and effectively evaluated. Our product is pure, unadulterated bee pollen without any sugar, preservatives, food colour and additives. It is also certified organic. We have soil certification and the approval of EU organic certification bodies to back up this claim. This way, you can be sure our bee pollen is not tainted with pesticides, sulfite, and other preservatives.

After inspection, the pollen is packed in hermetically sealed bags and in cardboard boxes. We take every measure to make sure our clients receive only the freshest bee pollens with an outstanding nutritional value.
Our organic bee pollen granules are produced from multiple wild flowers in Spain that’s why it is considered to be the best in the world. It has a naturally sweet taste, fresh scent and golden color that’s great to use in yoghurts, cereals, drinks, or even on their own.
